A replica from times when attention to detail and time were more widely spread, this stein is a reproduction of the steins created around the Franco-Prussian War to honor members of the military who were moving from active duty to the reserves. Upon making this transition each soldier received a stein created custom for them. This particular stein details the military history of Reservist Schmidt. It pictures his entry into service and departure from his dear love, his position in the cavalry, and an image of remembrance for his time served. Also included in the intricate detail of this stein are his unit and regiment information, the individuals he served with, and cavlary poem along the top of the stein. The lid hosts a pewter cavalry member figurine and a pewter eagle serves as the thumblift.
